OCBC Al-Amin has tied up yet again with neighbour Masjid Jamek to mark the commencement of Ramadan
OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (OCBC Al-Amin) has tied up yet again with neighbour Masjid Jamek to mark the commencement of Ramadan, but this time with a twist!
Instead of having the usual single-point distribution at the mosque, which continues, the annual bubur lambuk distribution included the Menara OCBC entrance as well.
Since its inception in 2008, OCBC Al-Amin, the Islamic subsidiary of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, had linked arms with Masjid Jamek personnel to mark the beginning of Ramadan with the symbolic gesture of offering bubur lambuk to their neighbours and the community at large.
According to OCBC Al-Amin CEO Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechik, people from all walks of life in areas surrounding the Bank’s headquarters have enjoyed the opportunity each year to share in the spirit of the fasting month through the programme.
“We are entering the holy month of Ramadan and once again we are seeking to give back to the community through meaningful gestures. I am pleased that my colleagues and I were able to include another visible area for our bubur lambuk distribution exercise – right at the entrance of Menara OCBC – so more people could congregate at a public area in the spirit of togetherness. We are grateful to Masjid Jamek for partnering with us yet again in the effort. We hope everyone will have a meaningful Ramadan this year as we look forward to 1 Syawal,” Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz said.
Since its establishment in December 2008, OCBC Al-Amin has remained among the top foreign Islamic banks in Malaysia, consistently placing among the top two by assets since 2013.
OCBC Al-Amin offers its products and services through the 38 OCBC branches nationwide, including 7 that are standalone Islamic banking branches.
